Membership Dues and Tax-Deductible Contribution. Checks should
be made to the NEW YORK FOUNDATION FOR THE ARTS. I understand
that the NYC Arts Coalition depends upon the generosity of its members,
and I would like to combine membership with a tax-deductible contribution.
In
honor of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt's 1935 Executive Order
creating the Works Progress Administration, which employed thousands
of artists, performers, musicians, and writers during the Great
Depression. Understudies receive a gift.
In
honor of Governor Nelson Rockefeller's 1960 establishment of the
New York State Council on the Arts, the first agency of its kind
to award public funds to encourage arts development.
Soloists receive a gift and a listing in the Coalition's newsletter.
In
honor of the 1965 establishment by President Lyndon B. Johnson of
the National Endowment for the Arts, the primary federal agency
providing financial support for the arts. Principals receive a gift,
a listing in the Coalition's newsletter and an invitation to go
behind the scenes at one of New York City's finest cultural institutions
during our biannual event, Artist for a Day.
